Floyd O'Neal photograph collection 1970s-Present

The Floyd O'Neal photograph collection consists largely of the American Indian Movement, a 1970s armed standoff in the Dakotas. 1996 addendum of one folder contains images from the Bureau of Land Management Grazing Fee Study in Colorado/Utah regions from 1952. The collection contains a contact sheet of photographs of Floyd A. O'Neil in the University of Utah Marriott Library; fourteen photographs of events during and after the 1973 confrontation at Wounded Knee, South Dakota.

Floyd O'Neil was born on 14 July 1927, and spent his childhood in the Uintah Basin. He attended Carbon College before moving on to the University of Utah, where he was awarded a B.S. in History in 1957 and a Ph.D in History in 1973.
